Leung Kee Cantonese Food
About This Spot
Stepping into Leung Kee Cantonese Food is like finding a familiar pocket of Hong Kong tucked away in Richmond’s bustling Hazelbridge Way. The atmosphere moves at a comfortable, unhurried rhythm — not rushed, but lively enough to hint at the steady flow of locals popping in for their favorite comfort foods. The modest interior feels practical yet welcoming, the kind of place where the focus rests on good company and satisfying meals rather than on fuss.
Here, the essence of a traditional cha chaan teng — a Hong Kong-style cafe — unfolds through simple, heartfelt dishes that resonate with day-to-day memories as much as flavors. The kitchen sends out warm plates that invite conversation, whether it's over a velvety cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea or a generous bowl of curried beef brisket on rice. The wok’s distinctive “wok hei” breathes life into every noodle dish, while staples like barbecue duck on rice or minced pork with preserved vegetables speak of a culinary lineage that feels both special and comfortably familiar.
The pace encourages lingering—watching the ebb and flow of neighbors meeting for quiet lunches, families gathering over shared meals, or solo diners savoring their choices without hurry. There is a gentle authenticity here, where humility and consistency have earned the trust of repeat visitors who appreciate the warmth behind the kitchen counter as much as the flavors on their plates.
Leung Kee doesn’t seek to dazzle with innovation but rather to offer a sincere snapshot of Cantonese everyday dining, inviting you to discover the quiet joy in well-made classics and subtle, homey touches. It’s a place to come with open appetites and calm minds, ready to share a moment and a meal that feels quietly earned and simply satisfying.

My family's come to restaurant in Aberdeen for HK type foods. Ordered the Malaysian Fried Kway Teow (flat rice noodle) and Fried Fish, Tofu with Veggies & Rice. These also come with tea or soup. Unfortunately they had no soup so we opted for tea. The noodle has good wok hey and was seasoned well. The rice had a good amount of fish, tofu and various veggies. Only complaint was some of the veggies were old.

My go to when I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for. Food is delicious and affordable. Has the soy sauce chicken and it’s pretty authentic.

They originally messed up the order, but they fixed it which is nice! Would say this is a solid spot can't go wrong with the cantonese classics
